What’s going on in Melton? Spring Edition!

As spring blooms and Easter approaches, Melton Mowbray gears up for a flurry of exciting events to keep you busy during the school holidays. From family-friendly fun to crafts and culture, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Here’s a guide to what’s on in Melton Mowbray this spring!

Easter Eggs-travaganza

Belvoir Retail Village: Boom Circus – 19th, 20th and 21st April

Boom Circus will be pitching its Big Top at the Belvoir Retail Village for three days only and bringing its talented team of acrobats, jugglers and aerial athletes to wow the crowds with their astonishing routines.

Performing two shows each day at 1:30pm and 4:30pm across the 19th, 20th and 21st April, audiences will see breathtaking ground acrobatics and jaw-dropping aerial feats, which have plenty of theatrical flair, comedic timing, storytelling and audience involvement.

Visitors can also ‘clown around’ on Belvoir Castle’s Adventure Playground, which will be open from Saturday 5th April to Monday 28th April with a circus themed trail full of twists, turns, bunting and balloons, leading to the iconic Hall of Mirrors with a circus-inspired surprise at the end. Guests can combine tickets for Boom Circus and the playground over Easter weekend, offering families an entire day of entertainment at the historic estate in Leicestershire.

Located behind the Belvoir Retail Village, Belvoir’s animal park is also reopening in time for the Easter holidays. Little ones can see their favourite farm animals including goats, donkeys, cows and sheep.

The Great Melton Easter Egg Hunt – 20th April, 11am to 2pm

Hop on over to New Park (bandstand) for a fun-filled, family-friendly Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, 20th April 2025! This exciting event is set to take place from 11:00 am to 2:00pm. Join the Easter trail to win a chocolate egg and meet the Easter Bunny on the way! Learn to spin plates, walk on mini stilts and show off your hoola hooping skills at the Circus play session! At Midday, the Easter Egg Hunt will begin.

Get amazing photos with the Easter Bunny and you’ll even get to meet a real Baby Velociraptor!

The first Stockyard Saturday of the year, 09:00 – 14:00, within the Traders Hall, so whatever the weather April brings you’ll be dry! Celebration of History

Belvoir Castle is opening a specially curated exhibition about Motherhood at Belvoir.

Open from 29th March until 11th May, the exhibition celebrates the strength, love and legacy of all the mothers and mother figures who have lived at Belvoir Castle over five centuries. It documents unique facts about each Duchess or Countess and their families, whilst celebrating their achievements, interests and milestones.
